China approves Fuji Photo/SVA Electron large color filter project |

BEIJING (XFN-ASIA) - China's top economic planning agency said it has approved plans by Fuji Photo Film Co Ltd and SVA Electron Co (SHA 600602) to build a production line for large color filters used in thin film transistor liquid crystal displays (TFT LCDs).The National Development and Reform Commission said in a statement on its website that the expected output of the production line, to be located in Shanghai, is 80,000 units per month.The project has registered capital of 100 mln usd with SVA holding 75 pct and Fuji Photo Film the remainder.Total investment in the project is 266.8 mln usd, with 166.8 mln usd to be provided by bank loans.(1 usd = 7.8 yuan)susan.wang@xfn.com
