China may tie loan access to companies' environmental performance - report

BEIJING (XFN-ASIA) - China is developing a credit system that will tie loan access to companies' environmental performance, state media reported.

The People's Bank of China, or central bank, is cooperating with the State Environmental Protection Administration to push the new system, the official China daily reported, citing Su Ning, the bank's deputy governor.
