STOCKHOLM - The Swedish government said it does not intend to sell its 21.4 pct holding in airline group SAS AB as part of its privatisation programme, reported Dagens Industri.'The government has decided to sell six companies and SAS isn't among them,' said Mia Widell, press secretary to the minister for financial markets, Mats Odell. The statement follows rumours emanating from London yesterday that Germany's Lufthansa is interested in bidding for the Scandinavian carrier, in which the Swedish, Norwegian and Danish governments own a combined 50 pct stake. The Danish finance ministry also said it has had no contact with Lufthansa, while the Norwegian government has said it intends to retain its 14.3 pct holding in the carrier.simon.richardson@thomson.comsjr/harCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2006.
