Chrysler head LaSorda seeks concessions from US United Auto Workers union

FRANKFURT - DaimlerChrysler AG's Chrysler unit head Tom LaSorda told

Germany's Boersen-Zeitung the car maker intends to seek concessions from the

United Auto Workers (UAW) union as part of the planned restructuring of the

unit.

Japan Airlines considering slashing 3,000 jobs by March 2010

TOKYO (XFN-ASIA) - Japan Airlines Co Ltd (JAL) is considering cutting its

53,000-strong work force by 3,000 during the three years ending March 2010 as

part of its broader effort to restore profitability, the company said.
