Sears 9 weeks to Dec same-store sales fall; sees Q4 net diluted EPS rising |

LONDON (AFX) - Sears Holdings Corp said it expects its fourth quarter net diluted EPS to rise from a year earlier, as it announced a fall in domestic comparable store sales for the nine weeks to Dec 30.The company said Sears domestic comparable store sales declined by 5.6 pct reflecting lower lawn and garden and appliance sales, while Kmart comparable store sales decreased by 1.2 pct due to lower transaction volumes.Sears said it expects its net diluted EPS for the fourth quarter to Feb 3 to rise to 4.87-5.39 usd from 4.03 usd a year earlier, while in the full year it will reach 9.12-9.63 usd.The company noted that the 2006 fiscal year is a 53-week year for the Company, and as such, the fourth quarter is 14 weeks versus 13 weeks last year.Sear is due to release its fourth quarter and full-year financial results on or about March 1.newsdesk@afxnews.comcml/cmlCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2006.
