(updating to add background)FRANKFURT (Thomson Financial) - Deutsche Lufthansa AG said reports it is planning a takeover bid at 4 eur per share for Spanish peer Iberia are 'mere market speculation.'A spokeswoman for the German carrier said she cannot further comment on the matter.Earlier, Lufthansa CEO Wolfgang Mayrhuber said, in an interview with Swiss daily Neue Zuercher Zeituung am Sonntag, that with a market price of about 4 bln eur, Iberia is 'clearly too expensive'.Spanish news agency EFE earlier reported that Lufthansa is planning to offer 4 eur a share for Iberia.
