(Corrects fine to 60,000 stg)LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Dwr Cymru Welsh Water has been fined 60,000 stg after pleading guilty to supplying unfit drinking water to 70,000 homes in Wales between November 2005 and January 2006.The Drinking Water Inspectorate (DWI) prosecuted Dwr Cymru Welsh Water after 231 people were made ill by the company's water during the period.Diane McCrea, chairman of the Consumer Council for Water Wales, said: 'We will be scrutinising the company's procedures and the remedial work undertaken to ensure that this never happens again.'Dwr Cymru Welsh Water's unique financial structure, where there are no shareholders, means that this fine will ultimately have to be funded from what customers pay.
