SYDNEY (XFN-ASIA) - The unemployment rate was a seasonally adjusted 4.6 pct in December, unchanged from November, the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) said.The December jobless rate was below the market consensus forecast of a rise to 4.7 pct for the second consecutive month.The ABS said that on a seasonally adjusted basis the number of people employed increased by 44,600 to 10.3373 mln compared with consensus forecasts of a 15,000 rise.Full-time employment increased 17,700 to 7.3822 mln while part-time employment rose 26,900 to 2.9551 mln.The number of people looking for work rose by 2,300 to 501,800.
