MADRID (AFX) - Spain's stock market regulator CNMV said it has received a written request from E.ON AG that it investigate possible collusion between Endesa SA and Acciona SA over the constructor's recent stake building in the power giant.

'E.ON submitted a written request (to investigate) at the start of the year...but it is not an accusation,' of possible collusion, a CNMV spokeswoman said.

Acciona has raised its stake in Endesa to 21.03 pct from a previous 20 pct over the last 10 days, according to a filing with the CNMV.

In November, energy watchdog CNE gave the construction company the green light to increase its stake in the utility to 24.9 pct, just under the limit which would trigger a partial bid.

No-one at Acciona was immediately available for comment.
