Mentor Graphics, EVE settle lawsuit

WILSONVILLE, Ore. (AFX) - Mentor Graphics Corp., which provides electronic design automation software and hardware used by chip developers, said Thursday it settled patent litigation with EVE-USA Inc., a maker of verification systems used in chip design.

The case was pending in the U.S. District Court of Oregon. The companies did not give details of the settlement.

Mentor's shares rose 47 cents, or 2.5 percent, to $19.09 in midday trading on the Nasdaq.
