TOKYO (XFN-ASIA) - Mitsubishi Motors Corp is considering the possibility of jointly assembling cars in Russia with PSA Peugeot Citroen Group, the Nikkei reported, without citing sources.Under the plan, the two automakers will invest 50 bln yen to build a factory in the suburbs of St. Petersburg with capacity of 200,000 vehicles a year, the business daily said.The plant is likely to start operating as early as in 2010, producing the next generation of Mitsubishi's Lancer sedan, it said.In 2005, sales of new cars in Russia stood at approximately 1.8 mln vehicles, a 50 pct increase in just five years.(1 usd = 120.44 yen)yasuhiko.seki@xfn.com
