China shares higher in early trade led by energy, steel stocks |

SHANGHAI (XFN-ASIA) - China shares were higher in early trade with investors focusing their interest in energy and steel large caps, dealers said.At 9:46 am, the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 21.03 points or 0.36 pct to 5,934.43, after opening up 37.67.China Shenhua Energy Co Ltd (SHA 601088), which listed on Shanghai bourse on Tuesday, rose 3.42 yuan to 87.27, following a 10 pct rise yesterday.China Petroleum & Chemical Corp (Sinopec) (SHA 600028; HK 0386; NYSE SNP) gained 1.45 yuan to 23.20.Baoshan Iron & Steel Co Ltd (SHA 600019) added 0.75 yuan to 19.59.(1 usd = 7.51 yuan)lilian.wu@xfn.com-xfnlw/xfntmCOPYRIGHTCopyright Thomson Financial News Limited 2007.
