LONDON (AFX) - MyTravel Group PLC and KarstadtQuelle AG's Thomas Cook are in advanced discussions about a merger of equals, which is likely to be announced as early as today, the Financial Times reported.The two companies are working on the final details, the FT said. The exact structure of the transaction remains unclear but MyTravel shareholders would receive shares in the combined group, it added.The newspaper said the merger will have a 'huge impact' on the auction of the holiday business of First Choice Holidays PLC, which has been in talks with both MyTravel and Thomas Cook.
