Italy's RAI asks Cisco to build set-top box for digital, internet TV

MILAN (AFX) - Italian state-owned broadcaster RAI said it has asked Cisco Systems Inc to build a new generation set-top box for both digital terrestrial and internet TV, daily La Repubblica reported.

The newspaper added that RAI's rival Mediaset SpA is working have ry actively' on developing the hybrid set-top box, but that no official announcement has been made.
