BEIJING (XFN-ASIA) - India overtook Canada to become China's tenth largest trading partner in January, the official Xinhua news agency reported, citing customs statistics.Monthly trade between India and China in January soared 63.3 pct to 2.63 bln usd in January, Xinhua said.This compared with trade volume between China and Canada of 2.23 bln usd last month, the news agency said.The European Union, the US and Japan remained China's top three trading partners, with bilateral trade volumes of 26.46 bln usd, 23.43 bln usd and 17.51 bln usd, respectively.South China's Guangdong province reported 44.96 bln usd worth of foreign trade in January, accounting for 28.6 pct of the national total, Xinhua added.The General Administration of Customs said earlier that China exported 86.62 bln usd worth of goods in January, up 33 pct from a year ago, while imports reached 70.74 bln usd, up 27.5 pct.will.davies@afxasia.com
