ATHENS (AFX) - Greek betting technology company Intralot's Gidani consortium is expected to take over the running of the South African lottery by April 1, sources close to the matter said to Euro2day Newswire. The sources said that Gidani has until Friday to submit an update about its shareholding structure to the South African Ministry of Commerce and Industry, in order to preserve its lottery tender win.The ministry's deadline follows a recent court challenge to the legality of Gidani's tender win by Uthingo, the consortium that currently runs the lottery, citing technical irregularities in its data submission. The South African lottery contract has a seven-year duration and the operator is entitled to keep 1 pct of revenues as profits. The sources said that they expect Intralot will earn 8 mln eur in net profits by providing the system, maintenance and management fees for the South African lottery.Source: Euro2day.gr NewsWireskrekas@euro2day.grns/jsaCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
