LONDON (AFX) - Xstrata Copper Canada said it intends to increase the volume of recycled material processed through its Horne smelter in Rouyn, Quebec, after selling three end-of-life electronics recycling facilities to a subsidiary of scrap metal merchant Sims Group Ltd for an undisclosed sum.Xstrata Copper said it will continue to receive and process the copper and precious metal bearing product stream from the facilities, which are currently operated by its Noranda Recycling subsidiary.The sale will also help the company grow its activity in the precious metal and copper recycling business, it said in a statement.Commercial offices in Canada, the US, Malaysia and Switzerland will be maintained with the goal of expanding Xstrata Copper Canada's acquisition of recyclable materials.newsdesk@afxnews.comfaj/jrCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
