BEIJING (XFN-ASIA) - Bayerische Motoren Werke AG said it sold 36,357 cars in China in 2006, up 51.3 pct.In a statement, BMW said sales of BMW brand cars in China rose 49.6 pct year-on-year to 35,300 units in 2006, including 22,550 units of the BMW 5 and BMW 3 models.Sales of Mini-brand cars surged 145.8 pct year-on-year to 1,057 units.BMW said sales in Greater China, which includes the mainland, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau, rose 35.4 pct year-on-year to 44,710 units.Globally, the carmaker sold 1.37 mln cars in 2006, up 3.5 pct.zachary.wei@xfn.com
