Japan's Canon to buy out Toshiba stake in SED joint venture

TOKYO (XFN-ASIA) - Canon Inc says it will buy out the stake held by Toshiba

Corp in their 50-50 joint venture as it has decided to mass-produce SED

(surface-conduction electron-emitter display) television panels on its own.

TOKYO (XFN-ASIA) - Sharp Corp is aiming to sell 9.0 mln liquid crystal

display televisions worldwide in the fiscal year ending March 2008, 50 pct more

than it expects to sell in the current fiscal year, the company said.
