(Adds Q3 results)LONDON (AFX) - Russian energy group LukOil said its oil and gas production grew 12 pct to 2.18 mln barrels of oil equivalent per day in 2006.Oil production reached 95.2 mln tonnes, while gas output 'more than doubled' to 15.8 bln cubic metres, LukOil said in a statement.The increased volumes allowed the group to reap the benefits of rising energy prices, but it noted these gains could be partly offset by adverse effects of the volatile ruble and increased taxes, tariffs and duties.The taxes it paid to the Russian government grew 28 pct to 22.3 bln usd.The group's total refining volume increased 3 pct.Following a revamp, the number of companies run by the group fell 13 pct, LukOil said.Separately, LukOil reported increased earnings and revenue in the third quarter, bolstered by strong oil and gas prices.Net income in the September quarter rose 2.43 bln usd, from 2.21 bln, lifting the nine-month figure to 6.44 bln usd, from 4.8 bln.Turnover grew to 18.38 bln usd, from 16.32 bln, in the quarter, and to 51.8 bln usd, from 40.57 bln, in the nine-month period.monicca.egoy@thomson.commbe/rw/mbe/amCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2006.
