Parmalat to receive 149 mln usd in settlement with Deloitte & Touche |

MILAN (AFX) - Parmalat SpA has reached an agreement with former auditor Deloitte & Touche to settle all their legal claims, under which Parmalat will receive 149 mln usd, the two firms said in a joint statement.The settlement also covers Dianthus SpA, which operated in Italy under the name Deloitte & Touche up to the end of July 2003, they said.'The transaction puts an end to years of investigative activity completed by Parmalat and to in-depth investigations in relation to civil actions in the US,' the joint statement said.Parmalat had sought damages against Deloitte & Touche over the audit firm's role in the collapse of Parmalat in Dec 2003.nigel.tutt@afxnews.comnt/lamCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2006.
