MUMBAI (Thomson Financial) - Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd said it has received approval from Canadian drug authority Health Canada to manufacture and market Cefprozil, its generic version of the antibiotic Cefzil made by Bristol-Myers Squibb.Cefprozil tablets and powder are indicated for the treatment of upper respiratory tract infections and uncomplicated skin and urinary tract infections.Cefprozil will be manufactured by Ranbaxy in India and will be distributed in Cananda by the company's subsidiary Ranbaxy Pharmaceuticals Canada Inc.The total market size for Cefzil in Canada was 28.2 mln cad in 2006, added Ranbaxy.tf.TFN-Europe_newsdesk@thomson.compcm/aku/vlbCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
