UNIONTOWN, Pa. (AP) - Shane Felter Industries Inc., which makes steel beams used in bridges and other construction projects, faces more than $166,000 in proposed fines for allegedly violating federal workplace safety rules.Shane Felter, of Uniontown, did not repair or replace defective parts on seven overhead cranes, OSHA said Monday. OSHA proposed $56,000 in fines for those violations, which it says were 'willful.'OSHA also wants more than $110,000 in other fines for lesser violations ranging from allegedly having inadequate protective equipment for workers to using open flames or sparks near flammable liquids.The company did not immediately return a message left by The Associated Press.OSHA said it inspected the company after reviewing its workplace illness and injury records.
