BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Shaw Group Inc. said Monday that Ernst & Young LLP has resigned as the engineering and construction contractor's independent accountant.Ernst & Young is expected to step down upon the filing of Shaw's quarterly report with the Securities and Exchange Commission for the period ended Feb. 28.Shaw said there were no reported disagreements with Ernst & Young, and that the accountant's reports for fiscal years 2005 and 2006 did not contain an adverse opinion or disclaimer and were not qualified or modified regarding uncertainty, audit scope or accounting principles.Shares of Shaw fell 11 cents to close at $33.74 in regular trading on the New York Stock Exchange.Copyright 2006 Associated Press.
