Areva to win half of 5.3 bln eur China nuclear reactor contract - report

PARIS (AFX) - China plans to award Areva half of a 5.3 bln eur contract initially awarded to Toshiba Corp unit Westinghouse, L'Agefi daily reported, without naming its sources.

The contract with Westinghouse is for the construction of four nuclear power reactors.

A source close to the matter told Agence France-Presse earlier this month that Areva is in 'advanced discussions' to sign a deal to supply two third generation reactors in China.
