ViaSat receives $12 million order |

CARLSBAD, Calif. (AP) - ViaSat Inc., which makes satellite communications products, said Tuesday it landed an order worth more than $12 million from Taiwan for information distribution system terminals.The company will provide the Taiwan Ministry of National Defense with more than 70 LVT(1) configuration terminals plus spares.ViaSat also received a $3.1 million add-on order for its Lot 7 delivery order from the space and naval warfare systems command in San Diego. The add-on includes MIDS LVT(1), LVT(2) and LVT(7) configuration terminals for U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force applications.MIDS LVT is part of a tactical radio system that collects data from sources and displays an electronic overview of the battlefield using digital data and voice services.Shares of ViaSat shed 2 cents to $32.90 in afternoon trading on the Nasdaq Stock Market.Copyright 2006 Associated Press.
