National Grid welcomes UK govt's draft climate change bill

LONDON (AFX) - National Grid, provider of much of the UK's key energy network infrastructure, has welcomed the publication of the Governments draft Climate Change Bill published today.

National Grid chief executive Steve Holliday said the group looks forward to making a positive contribution through the consultation process.

'We have already met our Kyoto targets for reducing our emissions and have committed ourselves to delivering a 60 pct reduction in greenhouse gas emissions from all our processes, operations and offices in the UK and US ahead of 2050,' he added.
