Xstrata delays 2 shipments from Alumbrera copper mine due to flooding |

LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Xstrata PLC said its Xstrata Copper division delayed two shipments from the Bajo de la Alumbrera mine in Argentina because of flood damage on a railway line to the port.'Repairs to the railway line will finish on April 21,' said Xstrata spokeswoman Claire Divver. 'We are looking at alternative routes to the port,' she added.The flooding, which started on March 29, postponed the delivery of two shipments from April to May.The Anglo-Swiss mining company declined to discuss the size of the two deliveries.At 12.26 pm, shares in the diversified miner were down 46 pence, or 1.6 pct, at 2,749 pence.julie.crust@thomson.comjc/sljCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
