MILAN (Thomson Financial) - Finmeccanica SpA's annual sales are expected to reach 15 bln eur in 2008, after rising to 13.7 bln in 2007, and 2006's 12.5 bln, said Il Sole 24 Ore in a study on the company.

This year ought also to see a further rise in EBIT margin to 7.3 pct, to 8 pct in 2008, and towards 10 pct in 2010, it said.

Finmeccanica continues to invest in expanding its aeronautics, helicopter and defence electronics business, it said.

The Ansaldo Energia unit is expected to be listed on the bourse next year, while the Ansaldo Breda unit should break even by end-2009, it said.

Finmeccanica intends to develop its commercial activities in Russia, China, India and Japan, it said, noting that Japan is going through a deep change with more spending in Finmeccanica's three sectors.

Finmeccanica announces its first quarter results tomorrow, and analysts are looking for comments on long-term targets.
