PARIS (Thomson Financial) - Louis Gallois, chief executive of EADS' Airbus unit, said the A380 superjumbo 'will be delivered on time' and that all the major industrial partners for the future long-haul A350 will be chosen 'by the summer.'

In an interview with French daily La Tribune, the CEO spoke of the two-year delays in the development of the A380, and assured that the October 2007 delivery deadline for Singapore Airlines will be met.

'We now have full control of the production of this aircraft (...) which is complex and highly sophisticated,' he continued, promising to deliver 'with good reliability. It's the least we can do for an aircraft which has suffered such significant delays.'

Gallois also noted that the development of the future A350 is well underway, adding that 'we now have to choose the main industrial partners fairly rapidly as we want to integrate them into the development programme as soon as possible.'

'A few are already present on the production platforms in Toulouse.

For the others, we'll need to choose them by the summer', Gallois said, reasserting that the A350 will be commissioned by mid-2013.
