Groupe Partouche Q2 sales drop 5 pct as slot machine revenues fall

PARIS (Thomson Financial) - Casino operator Groupe Partouche said sales fell 5 pct in the second quarter to April from a year earlier, largely because of a slowdown in revenues from slot machines at its French casinos.

Group sales for the first half to April dropped 3.4 pct to 248.6 mln eur from 257.2 mln in the prior year, representing a 0.9 pct fall excluding the divested Ste Francaise des Casinos.

The decline in second quarter sales included a 2.4 pct like-for-like drop, Partouche said, without giving detailed figures.
