LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Telefonica SA's O2 unit in Slovakia, Telefonica O2 Slovensko, is preparing to launch its own mobile telephone network in the country.In a statement, the company said the first 400 base stations will be in operation by September, and the number will double by the autumn of 2008.The operator will continue to use Deutsche Telekom AG's T-Mobile Slovensko unit's national roaming network.The system will be rolled out in Slovakia's individual regions on a step-by-step basis, the company said.tfn.europemadrid@thomson.comped/cve/sljCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
