Severstal wins Vitimkansky gold exploration rights auction

MOSCOW (Thomson Financial) - OAO Severstal has won an auction for the rights to explore the Vitimkansky vein gold section in Buryatia, Siberia, Interfax reported, citing Vladimir Bakhtin, who heads the Russian region's Buryatnedra natural resources agency.

Bakhtin did not say how much Severstal bid for the asset.
