Bank of France sees French Q1 GDP growth 0.7 pct

PARIS (AFX) - The Bank of France said it expects GDP in France to grow at 0.7 pct in the first quarter of the year.

Yesterday, statistics office Insee released its first estimate for 2006 GDP, putting fourth-quarter growth at 0.6-0.7 pct and the full-year growth at 2.0 pct.

The Bank of France also published its business climate indicator for January, showing an increase in morale among industrialists to 107 from 104 in December.

Like the indicator published by Insee, the indicator reflects the level of positive business leader opinion on the overall output outlook, their own output outlook, past production, inventories and order books.
