FRANKFURT (AFX) - Belgian energy company Electrabel SA plans to penetrate the German municipal utilities market, CEO Jean-Pierre Hansen said in an interview with Handelsblatt.'We are looking for partnerships with German municipal utilities,' Hansen told the newspaper, adding that the company is also interested in acquiring stakes in public utilities.In particular, Electrabel is interested in Leipzig's planned partial privatisation of its municipal utilities, added the report, citing Hansen.Electrabel - which has been active in Germany since 1998 - is developing projects at three German power stations, and is now also considering working with gas power stations, stated the newspaper.krysia.diver@afxnews.comkd/jfrCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2006.
