Thai Airways still in talks over Airbus A380 delays |

BANGKOK (XFN-ASIA) - Thai Airways International PCL is still having talks with Airbus about compensation for delays in the delivery of six A380 airliners, and does not rule out the possibility of canceling the order, the airline said.The airline said the most likely solution would be to receive compensation in the form of discounts on future orders of Airbus planes.'But we have not ruled out a cancellation if an agreement cannot be reached,' Thai Airways president Apinan Sumanaseni said.Thai Airways has ordered six A380s, and delivery has been postponed by two years from the original schedule, which began in 2009.Apinan said previously that Airbus had proposed a discount for the purchase of A330s, an aircraft that suited Thai Airways expansion plans in the medium term.'The final decision is set to be decided at the Thai Airways board meeting on January 25,' said Apinan.Thai Airways had planned to use the A380s on some of its most popular routes, flying from Bangkok to Frankfurt, London and Tokyo.
