CMR forms research consortium, says DTI to invest 1.15 mln stg over 3 yrs |

LONDON (Thomson Financial) - CMR Fuel Cells PLC said it has formed a research consortium with Johnson Matthey PLC and Accelrys Inc, and says the UK Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is investing 1.15 mln stg in the consortium for the duration of the three-year collaborative contract.The amount, given through the DTI's Autumn 05 Technology Programme competition for funding, will help the consortium develop hydrogen technology for cars and other products, and make it cheaper and more efficient, DTI said.'This research is good for consumers and the environment, potentially cutting costs and emissions,' Alistair Darling, Secretary of State for Trade and Industry said.CMR said it expects the collaboration to significantly expand the range and performance of its fuel cell stack products.TFN.newsdesk@thomson.comypv/tsm/bsdCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
