ZURICH (Thomson Financial) - Barry Callebaut AG is open for talks with potential partners for its underperforming German Sarotti brand, chief executive Patrick De Maeseneire said in an interview with German newspaper Handelsblatt.'We are not actively looking for a partner for Sarotti, but if we found one who knows more about the brand business, we would not be disinclined,' De Maeseneire told the newspaper. However, a spokeswoman for the company ruled out a complete sale of Sarotti.A potential deal would only include the transfer of the brand name, whereas production would be retained at Callebaut, she said, citing a previous agreement with Germany's Genuport over its Gubor brand.Barry Callebaut had acquired the chocolate brand when taking over Germany's Stollwerk AG five years ago.andrew.ge.thompson@thomson.comat/cmrCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
