WASHINGTON (Thomson Financial) - The Boston Federal Reserve Bank has named economist Eric Rosengren to become its new president, replacing Cathy Minehan.Rosengren is the bank's current Executive Vice-president and head of supervision, regulation and credit.Minehan will retire July 22 after 13 years at the Boston Fed.Rosengren 'has made significant contributions to scholarly research in macroeconomics, monetary policy, international banking and risk management,' bank board chair Lisa Lynch said in the announcement.He has also worked on developing the Basel II international banking standards agreement.dennis.moore@thomson.comdem/wash/dcaCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
