ROCKAWAY, N.J. It is a chewable version of the birth control pill Ovcon 35, which has been on the market for decades. Watson Pharmaceuticals makes a generic version of that drug. The patent challenge comes as Barr's subsidiary Barr Laboratories files an application with the Food and Drug Administration to make a generic version of Femcon FE. Warner Chilcott said Femcon FE is under patent protection until 2019 and that it continues to have full confidence in that patent protection.Shares of Warner Chilcott fell 51 cents, or 2.9 percent, to $17.41 in morning trading.
