MADRID (Thomson Financial) - Spain's current account deficit widened to 9.879 bln eur in July from 8.444 bln a year earlier, the Bank of Spain said.In a statement, the central bank said the trade deficit expanded to 7.813 bln eur from 6.453 bln, mainly due to stronger growth in imports, up 15.4 pct, compared with exports which rose 12.7 pct.In the seven months to July the current account deficit widened to 60.081 bln eur from 49.711 bln, as the trade deficit increased to 48.499 bln from 44.812 bln.tfn.europemadrid@thomson.comjdy/ped/bsdCOPYRIGHTCopyright Thomson Financial News Limited 2007.
