WARSAW (Thomson Financial) - A jump in Polish inflation in September was mainly due to a sharp rise in food prices and should not raise underlying price pressure, which remains limited, Deputy Finance Minister Katarzyna Zajdel-Kurowska said today.'We estimate that core inflation, so excluding food and fuel prices, stayed on an unchanged level and was 1.2 pct,' she said in a statement after official data showed inflation surged past expectations to 2.3 pct last month.'Low core inflation indicates limited inflationary pressure in the economy in spite of the high growth of wages.'pawel.sobczak@thomson.com +48 22 447 2430ps2/ejbCOPYRIGHTCopyright Thomson Financial News Limited 2007.
