Japan Oct-Dec GDP components contribution

TOKYO (XFN-ASIA) - The Cabinet Office provided the following component breakdown of percentage point contributions to

December quarter GDP growth compared to revised figures for the previous quarter:

Domestic demand - plus 1.0 percentage point (minus 0.4)

Private demand - plus 0.9 percentage point (minus 0.3)

Private consumption - plus 0.6 percentage point (minus 0.6)

Residential investment - plus 0.1 percentage point (neutral with negative implication)

Non-residential investment - plus 0.3 percentage point (plus 0.1)

Private-sector inventory - minus 0.1 percentage point (plus 0.2)

Public-sector demand - plus 0.1 percentage point (minus 0.1)

Government consumption - neutral with positive implications (plus 0.1)

Public investment - plus 0.1 percentage point (minus 0.2)

Net exports - plus 0.2 percentage point (plus 0.4)

Non-residential investment is considered equivalent to private capital expenditure.
