Japan Oct-Dec GDP components quarter-on-quarter percentage changes

TOKYO (XFN-ASIA) - The Cabinet Office provided the following quarter-on-quarter percentage changes in the December quarter GDP components compared with revised figures for the previous quarter:

Domestic demand - up 1.0 pct (down 0.4 pct)

Private demand - up 1.2 pct (down 0.4 pct)

Private consumption - up 1.1 pct (down 1.1 pct)

Residential investment - up 2.0 pct (down 0.1 pct)

Non-residential investment - up 2.2 pct (up 0.8 pct)

Public-sector demand - up 0.5 pct (down 0.4 pct)

Government consumption - unchanged (up 0.7 pct)

Public investment - up 2.7 pct (down 4.8 pct)

Exports - up 1.1 pct (up 2.4 pct)

Imports - flat (down 0.5 pct)

GDP deflator - minus 0.5 pct year-on-year vs minus 0.7 pct

Non-residential investment is considered equivalent to private capital expenditure.
