AMSTERDAM (AFX) - MAJOR INDICESAEX 508.07, up 0.03 pctAMX Midcap 716.92, up 0.09 pctGovernment bonds traded higherMajor decliners:-Akzo Nobel fell 2.90 pct to 45.49 eur, after posting fourth-quarter earnings which were mixed compared with last year, and said it will carry out the IPO of Organon BioSciences division during the coming weeks.-ING fell 0.69 pct to 34.39 eur, as investors said initial enthusiasm about the group's full-year earnings faded, with some observers saying the underlying performance was only in line, dealers said.-Randstad was off 0.64 pct at 54.20 eur. Earlier, the company presented fourth-quarter numbers which showed net ahead of expectations, while sales were in-line, although some analysts showed concern about the slowing US market.-Crucell was down 2.20 pct at 20.05 eur.Major gainers:-Reed Elsevier surged 5.89 pct to 14.57 eur, as the publisher surprised the market by announcing plans to sell its under-performing education division and focus on boosting online revenues as it reported full-year results slightly below expectations but said market conditions for 2007 were generally positive.-DSM climbed 1.28 pct to 34.86 eur, despite a rash of downgrades this morning.-Wolters Kluwer added 1.04 pct to 23.36 eur.-Staffing group USG People rose 2.45 pct to 34.35 eur.-Nutreco was up 0.66 pct at 53.35 eur, after revealing it is in talks with several takeover targets with sales potential of 1.3 bln eur as it announced improved full-year results due to higher prices, volume growth and acquisitions, beating expectations.mike.croall@afxnews.commc/jlcCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2006.
