BRUSSELS (AFX) - Belgian chemical and pharmaceutical company Solvay SA said its project to build a fully integrated, 300,000 tonne per year PVC plant in Russia is 'progressing very well'.The group is in the 'final stages of negotiations' for the scheme, Jacques van Rijckevorsel, Solvay's general manager of plastics, told journalists at a press conference.'We know where we will do the project and with whom,' he said, but did not disclose the name of any potential partners.The group said the project would cost 'hundreds of millions of euros' but declined to give a concrete figure.Solvay said a decision on the scheme would be made this year.The group expects the operational start-up within three years of the decision date.nina.chestney@thomson.comnc/jsaCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2006.
