WHITEHOUSE STATION, N.J. (AP) - Drug developer Merck & Co. said Thursday the Food and Drug Administration accepted its application for two new indications for Januvia.Januvia is already approved to treat type 2 diabetes. The company is asking the FDA to add approvals for use as an initial and add-on therapy for glycemic control in combination with metformin. Merck said it expects a decision by mid-October.Shares of Merck fell 11 cents to $43.95 on the New York Stock Exchange in midday trading.Copyright 2006 Associated Press. All rights reserved.
