Tadpole enters into licensing agreements with Microsoft, Citrix UPDATE

LONDON (AFX) - Tadpole Technology PLC said it has entered into a confidential licensing agreement with Microsoft Corp and also said that it has agreed with Microsoft to withdraw and terminate all outstanding legal proceedings against each other.

The company said the licensing deal grants Microsoft access and rights to use patents of Endeavors Technologies Inc and StreamTheory Inc and their affiliates.

Separately, Tadpole said Endeavors Technologies has concluded a worldwide licensing agreement with Citrix Systems Inc. The deal grants Citrix access and rights to use patents and software developed by Endeavors and StreamTheory in all Citrix products.

In a trading statement, Tadpole Technology said the licensing deals with Microsoft and Citrix remove the need for it to secure additional sources of funding, adding that it will enable the company to report an improved operating result for the first half.

The company, however, said it will continue to monitor its progress and evaluate the options for any additional funding requirements.

It said the timing of revenue is likely to be irregular for the next several months given the typical sales lead times.
