BRUSSELS (AFX) - The European Commission said the deadline for its inquiry into French reinsurer Scor SA's proposed hostile acquisition of Swiss peer Converium Holdings is set for April 20.Scor, which already owns a 32.9 pct stake in Converium, made an unsolicited offer of 21.1 sfr per share to acquire the remainder.Converium's chairman has invited alternative bidders saying that reinsurer is 'open for a better offer'.simon.zekaria@thomson.comsz/jfrCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
