WASHINGTON (AP) - Lurita Doan, who heads the General Services Administration, on Tuesday named Edward Blakely as the agency's associate administrator for itscitizen services and communications office.Blakely heads an office that provides communication and marketing services to the media, federal agencies and GSA employees as well as public access to information and services through the Internet, e-mail, telephone, fax and print.Before GSA, he headed Maryland's strategic communications department under former Gov. Bob Ehrlich.He is a former vice president with Alexandria, Va.-based advertising firm of Smith & Harroff where he wrote, produced and directed television and radio ads.Copyright 2007 Associated Press.
